The Teachers Service Commission (TSC) online recruitment portal has been reopened for intern teachers to submit applications for available jobs

A total of 1098 slots are open in the Northeastern counties of the country.

TSC portal has been reopened for purposes of addressing teacher shortage  in the region experienced due to mass exit of teachers from this areas.

The recruitment of new teachers will help address high-quality education delivery.

Currently, teachers who are works as interns in Garisa, Mandera, Wajir, and Tanariver counties regardless of their initial employment date, these teachers are considered as senior interns they wait for the highly anticipated confirmation before end of this year.

Teachers who accepted to take the TSC  internship contract have a higher chance to get employed since they have acquired high skills.

The open slots provide an opportunity with recent graduates in education to acquire required teaching experience in the process of contributing to the educational progress of the country.

Internship  program also offers individuals who have finished their teacher training with a chance when they are seeking recruitment opportunities in the teaching sector.

All applicants interested in the internship positions must meet TSC’s stipulated qualifications among them having completed  teacher training from recognized institutions.

Teachers currently serving under internship earn a monthly stipend of ksh.20,000 which is later subjected to statutory deductions, leaving an intern teacher to walk home with ksh17,000 per month as salary.
