KNEC CIRCULAR FOR GRADE 7 AND 8 ASSESSMENT STARTING TERM 2

The Kenya National examination council (KNEC )has issued a circular with REF: KNEC/GEN/TD/CIR/CBA/2024/002 dated 6th March 2024 for assessment of grade 7 and 8 starting second term,2024.

This circular  is directed to all Sub County Directors of Education, the Heads of Junior Schools as well as Heads of Prevocational Level Schools across the country.

Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC) is expected  to  upload on the KNEC CBA portal the School Based Assessment tools for Grade 7 and 8 (which is Age Based Pathway) as well as  Prevocational Level ( which is Stage Based Pathway).

That inorder to have access to the assessment portal, the school  Head teachers are required to login onto the CBA portal @ https://cba.knec.ac.ke.

Incase of any school having challenges with password , they should contact their respective Sub-County Director of Education for purposes the password resetting.

The circular further indicates that all schools will be expected to administer the assessment tools, accurate scores and upload the same assessment outcomes of all learners on the CBA portal within the stipulated time frame.

KNEC has directed that the SBA tools for Grade 7 and 8 will assessment will be provided in two formats which include the PDF format and digital format through the CBA portal https;//cba.knec.ac.ke as follows:

Under PDF Format

Every Schools will be required to do this by logging in using the school credentials. (That is the Username and password).

All schools  will also access the tools in PDF format and download.

KNEC SBA tools will then be given to learners in either print format or either  projected on the screen or alternatively written on the board.

For convenience purposes on format adopted, the learners may write their responses on the question paper or on the writing materials provided by the school.
