TSC APPROVES MASS TRANSFER OF MORE 14,000 TEACHERS

TSC mass transfers(Feb2024). 14,613 teachers will report to new workstations as part of adjustments that will allow tutors to return to schools closer to their homes.

The instructors Service Commission (TSC) has transferred 14,613 instructors ahead of the commencement of classes on January 23, 2023.

The program resulted in the move of teachers away from their homes and was strongly opposed by tutors, who claimed that no incentives were provided.

Following the policy’s reversal, TSC is carrying out widespread teacher transfers in both primary and secondary schools.

In primary schools, 10,934 teachers, 1,948 principals, and 189 deputies have been transferred.

Secondary school transfers have been granted for 1,316 teachers and 226 principals

Gender parity, age, and health handicap are only a few of the characteristics considered in the transfers.

CS Ezekiel Machogu introduces nationalisation.

Education CS Ezekiel Machogu criticized delocalisation in 2022, calling the policy unfair because it did not address teachers’ welfare.

He stated that he will replace the cancelled scheme with nationalization.

This will be my first assignment: to implement nationalization. They did not take into account the situation  of teachers when delocalizing.

“Under the new model, if we determine that a teacher is worth keeping in a specific location, we will provide incentives for them to do so.

“We will not do what is being done through delocalization,” he stated.

TSC’s delocalization program had been a point of controversy between the teachers’ employer and the teachers’ unions.
